Welcome to EYFS!

Our Early Years Department consists of a Little Explorers room for ages 2-3, a Nursery room for ages 3-4, and two Reception classes, each led by qualified Teachers/Early Years practitioner and supported by Teaching Assistants and apprentices.

Our NEW Little Explorers room for 2-3 year olds is a home from home environment, where each child is valued, provided with the highest quality care, and where every day is full of exciting opportunities and experiences to explore.

Charges, Consumables and Billing Information

In Little Explorers, our theme is Winter. We will explore the weather changes and the different things we wear during winter to stay warm. We will also explore different animals that live in winter conditions.

In Nursery, our theme for Spring 1 is ‘Our Community.’ During this topic, we explore different job roles and their impact on the community. We also think about how the seasons have changed and the differences that we notice.

In Reception, our theme for Spring 1 is ‘Once upon a time’ During this topic we will explore a variety of different traditional tales. We will explore the tales through a variety of experiments, for example, what happens to a gingerbread man in different liquids? We also begin to write CVC words too!!

Homework

Homework will be set every week (on a Friday) via Class dojo with a focus on an area of the EYFS curriculum (PSED, Physical, Communication and Language, Literacy, Maths EAD, UTW). You can return the homework by the following Friday via Class dojo so we can see it. If you require paper copies of the homework, if appropriate, please just let us know. We would also encourage you to read at home with your child at least 3 times a week and practise their phonics sounds with them on a regular basis using the Supersonic Phonic friends Newsletter.
