At St Giles' and St George's, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every child should feel valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential. We work closely with pupils, families and professionals to ensure that children with SEND receive the right support at the right time.

Our approach is based on a graduated response, allowing us to identify and respond to individual needs as they arise. In the classroom, pupils may benefit from a range of additional supports and adaptations, including flexible seating, sensory toolkits, adaptive teaching, visual resources and wordbanks. We use additional provisions to support pupils and help them to build on their current skills and learning, whilst growing in confidence and independence.

Our Orchard provision is designed to help pupils to CONNECT, LEARN and THRIVE with a focus on developing their social and emotional literacy, and teaching pupils self-regulation and strategies to support their learning with a practical approach. The Apples Orchard supports pupils to develop their communication and interaction skills, whilst following a structured and sensory curriculum bespoke to individual needs supporting progress in the four areas of SEND needs.

We are committed to ensuring that pupils with SEND have access to a broad and balanced curriculum and are fully included in all aspects of school life. We celebrate the strengths and individuality of every child and strive to create an environment where all pupils can connect, learn and thrive.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please speak to the class teacher or arrange a meeting to discuss them in more detail. They may put additional strategies in place to support your child or discuss the concerns with the SEND team. Your child may be placed on the SEND register to reflect the support they are receiving and this will be shared with you.

Children identified as SEND will have an Assess, Plan, Do, Review (ADPR) plan which is reviewed termly or sooner if new concerns or recommendations are provided. ADPR plans and termly reviews are shared termly or more frequently if required.
